Over 70 percent of Norway’s car imports meet Norwegian soil for the first time in Drammen. The port also handles containers, steel and concrete elements, cement, grain, wood pellets and bitumen.

The port is an important player for the business community in and around Drammen and the port activities contribute to increased value creation and growth. In 2019, the total activity contributed to over 2300 jobs and a total value creation of 5 billion NOKs.

The Port of Drammen shall be the best intermodal port in south-eastern Norway and safeguard its role as a community builder in its owner municipalities of Drammen, Lier, and Asker. Because Drammen is one of the main network ports in Norway, the port’s infrastructure is central for environmentally friendly transport to and from the region.
